Aaron Lanes (born November 17, 1982 in Mill Valley, California) is an American soccer defensive midfielder, who last played for Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer.
Lanes captained UC-Santa Cruz to a 22-2 record and a second-place finish in the NCAA Division III tournament as a senior in 2004, also earning first-team all-Independent Division III and NSCAA second-team all-West Region honors along the way. He was named Defensive Player of the Year by the Association of Division III Independents.
Lanes joined the San Jose Earthquakes as a developmental player in September 2005 after appearing in three reserve games as a guest player.[1] Along with a majority of his Earthquakes teammates, he moved to Houston for the 2006 season. However, he was waived by the Dynamo during the 2007 pre-season. He then signed with the Rochester Raging Rhinos of the USL First Division.
